About Skydiving
Skydiving in Australia is a bucket-list experience like no other. Imagine freefalling at 220km/h over turquoise reef waters, golden beaches, or lush tropical rainforest — the views are so spectacular that many jumpers say they forgot to be scared.
Dundee Adventure partners with Australia's safest and most experienced skydiving operators to bring you tandem jumps in the country's most stunning locations. No experience is needed — you're securely harnessed to a professional instructor who handles everything while you enjoy the ride of your life.
Popular jump locations include Cairns (over the reef and rainforest), Byron Bay (over Cape Byron and the coastline), Airlie Beach (Whitsunday Islands views), and Sydney (Wollongong beach landing). Jump heights range from 10,000ft to 15,000ft — the higher you go, the longer the freefall and the more time you have to take in the views.
Every jump includes full safety briefing, all equipment, the tandem jump itself, and a certificate. Photo and video packages are available to capture your experience.
The actual freefall lasts between 30 and 60 seconds depending on your jump height, followed by a peaceful parachute ride of five to seven minutes where you can soak in the panoramic views. Most first-time jumpers describe the moment the chute opens as the most magical part — sudden silence, the world spread out below you, and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
Cairns is arguably the most spectacular skydiving location in Australia. Jumping from 15,000ft, you freefall over a patchwork of rainforest and reef with views stretching from Green Island to the Atherton Tablelands. Byron Bay offers a coastal jump with views of the famous lighthouse and the sweeping coastline. Airlie Beach puts the Whitsunday Islands and turquoise waters beneath you. And the Wollongong jump near Sydney features a beach landing that's hard to beat for Instagram moments.
Safety standards for skydiving in Australia are among the strictest in the world. All our partner operators are certified by the Australian Parachute Federation and maintain impeccable safety records. Tandem instructors carry thousands of jumps of experience, and equipment is rigorously maintained and inspected.
Most skydiving operators have a minimum age of 12 (with parental consent) and a maximum weight limit around 95-110 kg depending on the operator. No fitness test is required — if you can climb a few steps into the aircraft, you can skydive. Weather-dependent cancellations are rescheduled at no extra cost.
Whether you're ticking off a lifelong bucket-list item or looking for the ultimate adrenaline rush during your Australian adventure, skydiving is one of those experiences that changes your perspective — literally and figuratively. Book through Dundee Adventure and we'll find you the best price at the location that suits your itinerary.
