Okay experience
The activity itself was fun but the organisation left a bit to be desired. Bus was late, lunch was average. The actual experience made up for it somewhat.

Great way to spend the day
Very well organised tour with knowledgeable guides. The scenery was spectacular and we learnt so much about the local area.

Great value for money and a really fun day. The group size was perfect and we got to see everything without feeling rushed.

Worth the money
Good experience overall. The booking was easy and the activity was fun. Would have liked slightly smaller groups but the guides managed well.

Decent but room for improvement
Had a good time but felt the experience was a bit overpriced for what you get. The guide was great though and the location was beautiful.

Can't recommend enough
We've done similar experiences overseas and this one was easily the best. Amazing value and unforgettable memories. Thank you Dundee!

About Pinnacles Sunset Tour with Picnic Dinner
Operated by Wildlife Tours Australia · 9 Hours · Perth, WA
Trade city lights for starry nights on this unforgettable sunset-to-stars adventure along Western Australia’s stunning west coast. We kick things off by leaving Perth behind and heading north. After around 1.15 hours on the road, we stop at Guilderton Lookout to stretch our legs and soak up the views. This elevated vantage point delivers sweeping panoramas across massive white sand dunes — part of WA’s largest dune system — with the turquoise Indian Ocean shimmering in the distance. It’s a short climb (83 steps, about 7 minutes), and with toilets and a café at the car park, it’s an easy and scenic break without slowing the day down. Next, we head into the wild beauty of Nilgen Nature Reserve. When conditions are right, the landscape comes alive with colour — think banksias, bottlebrush, grass trees and kangaroo paws putting on a seasonal show. If the wildflowers are playing hide and seek, we’ll switch gears and head to Hangover Bay, where you can wander the shoreline, dip your toes in crystal-clear water, and keep an eye out for dolphins or sea lions cruising by. As the afternoon light softens, we roll into Nambung National Park just in time for the main event: the Pinnacles at sunset. These surreal limestone pillars — formed from ancient seas millions of years ago — are at their most magical at dusk. As the crowds thin out, the desert glows with shifting colours, creating a dramatic, almost lunar landscape that feels straight out of another world. We settle in for a relaxed outback picnic dinner, complete with a glass of local sparkling wine, as the sky fades from gold to deep indigo. Then comes the final wow moment: stargazing. With minimal light pollution, the night sky explodes into view. Using a telescope, we’ll explore planets and constellations while learning how to read the stars through modern astronomy and ancient stories — a powerful connection between land, sky and culture. Meals: Dinner included. Driving distance: 420km. Walking distance: ~1km / 2km.
