Better than I imagined
We saw more whales than I ever expected — breaching, spy-hopping, the lot. The crew were brilliant and even guaranteed a sighting. Do it!

Great morning on the water
Plenty of whale activity and a knowledgeable crew. Would have liked a touch longer out there but a wonderful experience overall.

Bucket-list whale watching
Humpbacks everywhere, a calf breaching over and over. The commentary really added to it. Warm, friendly crew and a very comfortable boat.

So close to the whales
A curious whale came right up to the boat and hung around for ages. The guides were passionate and knew heaps about the humpbacks. Unforgettable.

Humpbacks stole the show
These gentle giants breached so close we got soaked and did not care one bit. The guides were fantastic with the kids too.

Whales put on a show!
We had humpbacks breaching right beside the boat — mums and calves waving their fins. The crew clearly knew where to find them. Magical morning.

About Whale Watching in Moreton Bay
Operated by Brisbane Whale Watching · 5 Hours · Redcliffe, QLD
Step aboard Eye Spy in Redcliffe and spend the day cruising Moreton Bay with a crew that truly knows these waters. Led by Captain Kerry Lopez — a standout in the whale-watching world — this relaxed, luxury-style experience puts you right where the action is when the humpbacks arrive. As you head north of Brisbane, keep your eyes on the water for breaches, tail slaps, and those curious moments when a whale glides close enough to send a shiver through the whole boat.
Between sightings, you’ll settle in with a gourmet picnic lunchbox and enjoy the kind of expert commentary that makes every splash, blow, and roll more meaningful. The trip is eco-accredited, supports ongoing whale research, and gives you a genuine chance to connect with these gentle giants in their natural playground. With wheelchair access, an onboard bar, and daily departures through the season, it’s an easy, memorable day out from the city. If you’re after a front-row seat to one of Queensland’s great wildlife spectacles, this is the one to book.
Know before you go: - Boarding begins at 9:00am at Redcliffe Jetty, with departure at 10:00am and return around 2:30pm. - This tour runs daily from June to November, but departures are subject to weather and sea conditions. - Bring sun protection, a hat, sunglasses, and a light jacket, as it can get breezy out on the water. - A camera or binoculars is a great idea if you want a closer look at the whales and other marine life. - The vessel is wheelchair accessible; if you have specific mobility needs, mention them when booking. - Your lunchbox is included, but drinks, snacks, and souvenirs from the onboard counter cost extra.
