Ningaloo blew me away
Snorkelling straight off the beach with turtles and reef fish, then whale sharks out wide. WA's coast is criminally underrated. Incredible trip.

Swam with a whale shark!
Bucket-list ticked — swimming alongside a whale shark at Ningaloo was surreal. The crew were professional and the whole day was seamless.

WA coast is magic
Turquoise water, white beaches and hardly a soul around. From Exmouth to the gorges, every stop was stunning. Fantastic guide and group.

Remote and beautiful
Long drives through the outback but the reward is empty beaches and world-class snorkelling. Ningaloo is every bit as good as they say.

Unspoilt paradise
The West coast feels wild and untouched. Snorkelling the reef and exploring the gorges were highlights. A proper adventure off the beaten track.

About Wave Rock, York and Aboriginal Culture including Rustic Lunch
Operated by Australian Pinnacle Tours · 12 Hours, 30 Minutes · Perth, WA
Leave Perth behind and head east into Western Australia’s wide-open Wheatbelt, where farming towns, red-dirt roads and big country skies set the tone for the day. You’ll stop in historic York for a morning tea break, roll through classic outback towns like Corrigin and Kondinin, and get a feel for everyday country life as you travel deeper into agricultural heartland.
The day really opens up at Hyden, where you’ll see the unforgettable Wave Rock rising from the landscape in sweeping, colour-banded curves. Along the way, you’ll also visit Hippo’s Yawn, wander through sacred Aboriginal sites and explore Mulka’s Cave, adding cultural depth to the journey. A rustic country-style lunch at the Wildflower Shop rounds out the experience, with time to choose a side stop such as the Wildlife Park, Lace Collection or Toy Soldier Museum. If you’re after a full day of striking landscapes, local stories and a proper taste of the outback, this one delivers.
Know before you go: - Bring comfortable walking shoes, as you’ll be getting on and off the coach at several stops. - Pack a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle, especially during warmer months in the Wheatbelt. - Morning tea in York is at your own expense, so you may want to bring some cash or a card. - This is a long day tour, with return to Perth expected at around 8:30 pm. - Be ready for a mix of sightseeing, light walking and cultural stops rather than a physically demanding hike.
