Just over an hour’s drive from Darwin, we depart the city and head towards Litchfield National Park, a tropical haven surrounded by lush rainforests offering a refreshing escape from the heat of the Top End. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to join the optional Jumping Crocodile Cruise on the Adelaide River, where you’ll witness these incredible creatures leaping from the water. Here, you’ll discover the abundant wildlife of the Top End, including a wide array of bird species, turtles, water pythons, and, of course, the iconic Saltwater Crocodile. We will stop in the charming township of Batchelor, where guests have the opportunity to purchase lunch to take with them into the park. Afterward, we’ll visit the impressive Magnetic Termite Mounds, a true marvel of nature. These towering mounds, aligned with the earth’s magnetic field, are an engineering wonder and a must-see attraction in the park. Following this, we’ll cool off at one of Litchfield’s famous natural plunge pools. Choose from the serene Buley Rockholes or the stunning Wangi Falls, both perfect spots to take a refreshing dip amidst the tropical surroundings. No visit to Litchfield is complete without marveling at the awe-inspiring Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls. These thundering waterfalls cascade beautifully against the rocky escarpment, creating a sight and sound that will leave you in awe.
