So close to the whales

A curious whale came right up to the boat and hung around for ages. The guides were passionate and knew heaps about the humpbacks. Unforgettable.

Amazing sightings

Saw multiple whales breaching and tail-slapping. Bit of swell out there but the skipper positioned us perfectly for photos. Loved it.

Great morning on the water

Plenty of whale activity and a knowledgeable crew. Would have liked a touch longer out there but a wonderful experience overall.

Better than I imagined

We saw more whales than I ever expected — breaching, spy-hopping, the lot. The crew were brilliant and even guaranteed a sighting. Do it!

Bucket-list whale watching

Humpbacks everywhere, a calf breaching over and over. The commentary really added to it. Warm, friendly crew and a very comfortable boat.

Humpbacks stole the show

These gentle giants breached so close we got soaked and did not care one bit. The guides were fantastic with the kids too.

About Dunsborough Whale Watching Eco Tours

Operated by Naturaliste Charters · 2 Hours · Dunsborough, WA

Set off from Dunsborough aboard the Alison Maree, a spacious 23-metre catamaran built in Western Australia for local conditions. This is a relaxed, family-friendly cruise where you can settle in on deck, feel the salt breeze on your face, and take in the sweep of Geographe Bay while the crew keeps a sharp eye on the water.

From mid-May through early December, Naturaliste Charters follows the Cape to Cape corridor in search of humpback whales, southern right whales, and the rarer blue and minke whales as they make their seasonal migration. You may also spot New Zealand fur seals, dolphins and seabirds along the way. With marine-science-trained crew sharing expert commentary, plus tea, coffee and biscuits on board, it’s an easy, memorable way to spend a couple of hours in one of WA’s best whale watching regions. Book your place and come see what’s moving through the bay.

Know before you go: - Cruises depart from the Professional Fishermans Boat Ramp, 306 Geographe Bay Rd, Quindalup WA 6281, with departures at 10am and 2pm subject to weather conditions. - Please arrive 15-20 minutes before departure so there’s time to check in and board without feeling rushed. - Dunsborough departures involve a beach boarding transfer by tender to the Alison Maree; crew will assist, and it’s an easy, safe process. - Bring a light jacket, hat, sunscreen and camera, as conditions on the water can be breezy and cool even on a sunny day. - If you’ve selected the 20% deposit option, your credit card is held as security and the remaining balance can be paid on the day by cash or card. - If you plan to use the same-day dining offer at Occy’s Dunsborough, bring your confirmation email and note that pre-booking is strongly recommended.
