Better than I imagined
We saw more whales than I ever expected — breaching, spy-hopping, the lot. The crew were brilliant and even guaranteed a sighting. Do it!

So close to the whales
A curious whale came right up to the boat and hung around for ages. The guides were passionate and knew heaps about the humpbacks. Unforgettable.

Great morning on the water
Plenty of whale activity and a knowledgeable crew. Would have liked a touch longer out there but a wonderful experience overall.

Whales put on a show!
We had humpbacks breaching right beside the boat — mums and calves waving their fins. The crew clearly knew where to find them. Magical morning.

Amazing sightings
Saw multiple whales breaching and tail-slapping. Bit of swell out there but the skipper positioned us perfectly for photos. Loved it.

Bucket-list whale watching
Humpbacks everywhere, a calf breaching over and over. The commentary really added to it. Warm, friendly crew and a very comfortable boat.

About Augusta Whale Watching Eco Tour
Operated by Naturaliste Charters · 2 Hours · Augusta, WA
If you’re in Augusta during whale season, this is the kind of cruise that makes you slow down and really look. Step aboard the Alison Maree, a purpose-built 23-metre catamaran, and head out from Augusta Boat Harbour with a crew who know these waters and the whales that travel through them. Out on the bay, you’ll feel the sea breeze on your face as humpbacks roll, breach and slap their tails, while southern right whales often drift by with an easy grace.
Your crew brings the experience to life with marine-science-based commentary, so you’re not just spotting wildlife, you’re learning what’s happening in the water around you. Keep your camera ready for the chance of blue whales, minke whales, dolphins, fur seals and seabirds, then settle in with complimentary tea, coffee, Milo and biscuits as you take it all in. Comfortable, family-friendly and beautifully local, this is Augusta at its best. If whale season is part of your WA plans, this is one cruise worth making time for.
Know before you go: - Tours operate in whale season from May to August, with daily departures at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, weather permitting. - Please arrive at Augusta Boat Harbour 15 to 20 minutes before your departure time so boarding can begin smoothly. - Bring a warm layer or windproof jacket, as it can feel cooler on the water even on a sunny day. - A camera or binoculars are a good idea if you want to make the most of the wildlife sightings. - The cruise is family-friendly, with child life jackets and both indoor and outdoor viewing space available. - Same-day diners can show their confirmation email to receive 10% off lunch or dinner at The Augusta Hotel or The Colourpatch Restaurant & Café; beverages are excluded.
