Getting to Australia Zoo

Australia Zoo sits at Beerwah, inland from the Sunshine Coast and about an hour north of Brisbane. It is the Irwin family's park — 100 acres, more than 1,200 animals, and the Crocoseum where the Wildlife Warriors show runs daily. Getting there is the only awkward part: there is no direct public transport worth using, and hiring a car for the day usually costs more than a seat on a coach.

Transfer + entry is one price

Every tour on this page bundles the return coach transfer with your day admission, so there is nothing to buy at the gate. You are picked up from your hotel, dropped at the zoo, given at least six hours inside, and driven back. Nine hours door to door.

Coming from Brisbane or the Gold Coast

From Brisbane the run is about an hour each way from selected CBD hotels. From the Gold Coast it is closer to two hours, and that tour adds a sneak peek inside the Wildlife Warriors Hospital plus skip-the-ticket-line entry, with free cancellation up to 24 hours out.

Travelling between Brisbane and the coast?

The Croc Skip n Hop is a one-way transfer with the zoo day built into the middle. Start in Brisbane and finish on the Sunshine Coast, or the reverse — your luggage comes with you and is stored while you are in the park, so you never double back.

What to see once you are inside

The Crocoseum show is the headline act. Beyond it there are koalas you can stand beside for a photo, a walk-through kangaroo paddock, tigers, the Africa section and the Wildlife Warriors Hospital. Six hours is comfortable; most people use all of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a tour to Australia Zoo?
Tours that include return hotel transfers and full day admission start at $169 per adult from Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, $189 from Brisbane and $199 from the Gold Coast. The Croc Skip n Hop one-way transfer, which takes you from one city to the other with a zoo day in the middle, is $240. Every price on this page is the live price you pay — there is no admission ticket to buy separately.
Does the price include entry to Australia Zoo?
Yes. Every tour on this page includes day admission to Australia Zoo as well as the return coach transfer, so you do not need to buy a separate ticket at the gate.
How long do I get at the zoo?
You get at least six hours inside the park on every tour, which is enough time to see the Wildlife Warriors show in the Crocoseum, walk the koala and kangaroo areas and cover the 100-acre park at a relaxed pace. Door to door the day runs about nine hours.
Where does the tour pick me up?
From Brisbane, pickups are from selected CBD hotels including the Marriott, Pullman, Royal on the Park and Rydges South Bank. From Noosa and the Sunshine Coast you are collected from your hotel or accommodation. From the Gold Coast, pickups run from selected hotels. Your pickup point is confirmed with your booking.
What is the Croc Skip n Hop?
It is a one-way transfer with a zoo day built in. Instead of doubling back to where you started, you are picked up in Brisbane (or the Sunshine Coast), spend at least six hours at Australia Zoo, then continue to your accommodation at the other end. Your luggage travels with you — one 20kg bag plus carry-on, with storage while you are in the park. It is the efficient option if you are moving up or down the coast anyway.
Can I get to Australia Zoo without a car?
Yes — that is exactly what these tours are for. Australia Zoo is at Beerwah, roughly an hour from Brisbane and two hours from the Gold Coast, and public transport connections are slow. A transfer-and-entry tour handles the driving in both directions and gets you there for the start of the day.
Can I cancel my Australia Zoo tour?
The Gold Coast day tour offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure with a full refund. Cancellation terms on the other departures are set by the operator and shown at checkout before you pay.
