Snorkel, Sand, and Rain in North Queensland
“When I finished school, I was nervous to travel alone. My first stop was Fraser Island—driving across the beaches, swimming in crystal-clear rivers, and spotting dingos was unforgettable. I quickly realized solo travel wasn’t lonely; I met new friends everywhere.
In Agnes Water, I took two surf lessons. Despite the rain, I enjoyed every moment—after all, you’re already wet when surfing!

Arriving in Airlie Beach, the rain continued, but the weather cleared for my scenic flight. Seeing the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef from above was surreal. Afterwards, I joined a three-day sailing trip—despite initial rain, we visited Whitehaven Beach, snorkeled the reef, and watched dolphins leap beside our boat. Stand-up paddle boarding at sunrise was the perfect end to the trip.

Next, I explored Magnetic Island and Mission Beach. Even with more rain, I spotted wild koalas and wallabies, hiked the national park, and swam in the sea.
Scuba Diving in Cairns

My final Queensland stop was Cairns, where I went scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Jumping into the deep blue was intimidating, but the vibrant corals and marine life made it an incredible experience.
Rip, Roar, River Time…

Next up: river rafting and canyoning. The recent rains made the rivers wild—perfect for adrenaline! Jumping from rocks and sliding down waterfalls was exhilarating. I also visited a wildlife sanctuary, fed kangaroos, and hiked through the lush rainforest.

Bring on the Outback
In Alice Springs, I rode camels and embarked on a four-day tour to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Seeing Uluru in the rain with waterfalls was magical. We slept in swags, hiked around Uluru and King’s Canyon, and enjoyed perfect weather for exploring.

Afterwards, I traveled to Perth and visited Rottnest Island, cycling and swimming with quokkas nearby. My ten-day tour from Perth to Exmouth and Karijini National Park included swimming with whale sharks, exploring gorges, and sleeping under the stars. For once, I had two weeks of sunshine!

Coastline and Koalas
A three-day tour from Adelaide to Melbourne took me along the Great Ocean Road, spotting koalas and admiring stunning rock formations. In Melbourne, I relaxed at hot springs and watched the penguin parade on Phillip Island.

Up in the Clouds
My final stop was Sydney. I went skydiving, walked the Blue Mountains (even in thick fog!), climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge at night, and enjoyed coastal walks and swimming. Despite more rain, I loved every moment and met wonderful people along the way.

“This trip was filled with adventure, new friends, and unforgettable experiences. Thanks to everyone I met for making it so special. I hope to return to Australia—and maybe next time, with a little less rain!”
