Day 2 – Bangkok to Kanchanaburi

Start the day like a local, using Bangkok’s water taxis to reach the Grand Palace. With a local guide, explore the Royal Palace complex and learn about Thai royal traditions, then take a private boat tour of the klongs (canals) with a quick fish‑feeding stop. After lunch, say goodbye to Bangkok and travel to Kanchanaburi. Visit the Death Railway Museum, WWII Cemetery and the Bridge on the River Kwai, then check into your riverfront accommodation. Enjoy dinner of local specialities and sunset over the River Kwai.

Day 3 – Kanchanaburi, Erawan Falls & Overnight Train

This morning, visit Erawan National Park to walk the trails and cool off in the emerald pools of Erawan Falls. Continue to Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, for a guided bike ride past ornate temples, stupas and a giant reclining Buddha. In the evening, board your overnight train to Chiang Mai – a classic Thailand backpacking experience on this multi‑country Southeast Asia tour.

Day 4 – Elephant Nature Park & Chiang Mai

Wake up in northern Thailand and transfer to Elephant Nature Park for an ethical elephant experience. Learn about the rescue work, watch the elephants roam free and enjoy a wholesome lunch at the park – a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience. Continue to Chiang Mai and check into your hotel.
