Experience the rapids of the Barron Gorge on this River Boarding tour!

Barron Gorge National Park, is well known as one of two White Water Rafting hotspots around Cairns over a challenging grade 3 Whitewater If you have already been White Water Rafting before, River Boarding is your next adventure! Just a short 15min drive from Cairns, we take you to the mighty Barron river in amongst the tropical rainforest.

River Boarding is a more personal experience, everyone has their own individual riverboards, fins, safety equipment & we are head first into the river rapids, tackling the course from within the Barron Gorge River (as apposed to on the river).

Suitable for families, people looking for their next adventure, or to try something new like Australia’s only riverboarding tour company.

With a maximum of 12 people in your group (unless private charter), this is definitely a personal experience to enjoy in the Wet Tropics!

Duration

Please allow up to 4.5hrs for the whole experience from start to finish, every day is a little different, depends on weather, road conditions & fun!

Itinerary

Allow up to 4.5 hours from start to finish.

Meet at the Allbout Cairns shop before heading to the Barron River.
After your safety briefing, hit the water for an unforgettable riverboarding in Barron River session through tropical rainforest rapids.
Wrap up with return transport to Cairns.

Q: Who can join?
A: Ages 12 and above with basic swimming skills.

Q: What do I bring?
A: Here's a list of things we recommend you bring for the tour:

Bring along your own snacks and water.
Pack your swimmers, board shorts, bikinis or a rash top if you prefer.
Don’t forget a towel, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Wear comfortable sandals or thongs — shoes aren’t needed, but thick socks can help stop fins from rubbing.
In cooler months, bring something warm like a jumper and a dry change of clothes.
You can bring a hands-free camera or GoPro with attachments.
Have some cash handy for optional extras.
If you wear glasses, use contact lenses instead.
Remember to bring any daily medication you may need.
