What’s the accommodation like?
You’ll stay 5 nights swag camping (with amenities at most campgrounds) plus 1 night in an underground multi-share dorm in Coober Pedy. Swags are traditional canvas bed rolls with a built-in mattress, used under the stars or in wet-weather tents.
Do I need a sleeping bag?
Yes—bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. Alternatively, you can hire a used sleeping bag for $20 during booking.
Is this tour suitable for kids?
Passengers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult/caregiver. Untamed Escapes recommends children under 12 do not travel on swag camping tours due to the adventure-based activities.
How fit do I need to be?
A moderate fitness level is required. Some days involve 3–12 km of walking on uneven ground, sometimes in hot or wet conditions. You’ll also need to be comfortable getting in/out of a swag (ground-based bedding).
What’s the luggage limit?
One soft travel bag/backpack (max 15 kg) plus a small daypack/hand luggage.

Can I connect to Alice Springs after the tour?
