Day 1 – Depart Rainbow Beach & Explore Eastern K’gari

🕖 7:00 AM – Compulsory tour & safety briefing at Freedom Hostel, Rainbow Beach.
Meet your group, receive your 4WD training, and store any large luggage before the adventure begins. Then we hit the sand highway – 75 Mile Beach, K’gari’s iconic east coast road.

🛻 Travel north with your group and stop for morning tea at one of the many freshwater creeks.
📸 Next stop: the historic Maheno Shipwreck, once a hospital ship during wartime, now one of the island's most iconic photo spots.

🍽️ Lunch is included and will be served at a beautiful scenic spot chosen by your guide depending on the day’s pace.
🏞️ Your afternoon ends at Eli Creek, where you can float in crystal-clear waters, relax, and soak up the sun before heading to your private beachside campsite.

Day 2 – Rainforest Walks & Lake McKenzie

☀️ Wake up to a morning by the beach, enjoy breakfast and get ready to head south to Eurong, then inland for the day’s rainforest adventure.

🌿 First stop: Central Station – a historic logging site turned nature haven. Your guide will lead a short walk beside the serene Wanggoolba Creek, sharing stories of Indigenous culture and the island’s timber history.

🌳 Continue on a 1.8 km self-guided rainforest walk through Pile Valley surrounded by towering Satinay trees, before reuniting with the group for morning tea in this magical setting.

💦 Then it’s time for the jewel of K’gari – Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora).
Swim in its vibrant, turquoise waters, relax on the pure silica sands, and enjoy a chilled lunch before making your way back to the coast.

⛴️ Cross the barge at Inskip Point, and return to Rainbow Beach between 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM.

1. Can I drive the 4WD?
Yes! If you are 21+ with a valid driver’s license, you can drive. A safety briefing and driving experience assessment will be conducted before the trip.

2. What if I don’t want to drive?
No problem! You can ride as a passenger and enjoy the scenery while an experienced guide leads the way.

3. Do I need to bring food?
No, all meals are provided. Vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.

4. Will there be showers and toilets at the campsite?
Yes! The campsite has basic toilet and shower facilities.

5. How many people are in a group?
Groups typically range from 6 to 20 people, ensuring a fun and social experience while keeping it personal.
