Cairns Waterfalls Tour. Seriously Beautiful Waterfalls. A fun filled day exploring some of Australia’s most famous waterfalls and the beautiful rainforest of the Atherton Tablelands.

Travel from Cairns on our comfortable coaches, pack your towels and your cameras, this is the perfect way to celebrate natural beauty and immerse yourself – literally – in rainforest waters and crater lakes. Travelling south to Wooroonooran National Park, part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, you’ll explore a landscape that represents Australia’s natural origins. Lush green rainforests and an abundance of cascading waterfalls.

This Cairns waterfalls tour and the Wet Tropics Rainforest, delivers spectacular scenic vistas, a landscape of rugged mountains, steep ravines, winding rivers, ancient trees and not to mention the 2 highest mountains in Queensland.

Tour Treasures:

BABINDA BOULDERS

  • For the Traditional Owners, the Yidinji tribe, this is a place of legends and love stories. A hauntingly beautiful destination and popular swimming spot, at the foothill of Queensland’s highest mountain.

JOSEPHINE FALLS

  • Can you ride the natural rock slide? Yes you can! Walk through the rainforest to discover a beautiful cool pool of fresh rainforest water which flows down from above, over smooth boulders.

CRAWFORDS LOOKOUT

  • Wooroonooran National Park is a diverse landscape dominated by towering mountains, cloaked in thick rainforest. It conceals many rivers and ravines, but you get a glimpse of them at Crawfords Lookout.

MILLAA MILLAA FALLS

  • Contender for prettiest rainforest waterfall in Australia. Framed by tree ferns, Millaa Millaa cascades over a rock ledge, tumbles past basalt columns and splashes down to a swimming pool below.

LUNCH AT MALANDA

  • Stop in for lunch and a cool beverage at The Top Rail restaurant and bistro in Malanda. This great little local venue has fresh and tasty meals and there’s even a mechanical bull, if you’re keen to try some skills. (Bull is extra cost).

CURTAIN FIG TREE

  • Hidden amongst endangered mabi forest near Yungaburra, the Curtain Fig Tree stands pride of place, as it has for over 500 years. This impressive rainforest giant has roots that drop 15m to the forest floor.

LAKE EACHAM

  • Beautiful crater lake that embodies a peacefulness at odds with its ancient volcanic origins. No water flows in or out of Lake Eacham, which is a natural catchment for rainwater. Refresh your spirit with a swim.

PLATYPUS VIEWING

  • Peterson Creek in Yungaburra on the Atherton Tablelands is home to a healthy population of platypus. Jump off the coach and head to the viewing platform to hopefully be rewarded with a glimpse.
